ESSPA follows SPN Bat Policy.  For safety reasons, the Hirsch and Brawner divisions further restrict usage to only 2000 and 2004 ASA stamped bats that are also not on the ASA Non-approved list.  The use of bats with the USSSA stamp that do not also have a 2000 or 2004 ASA stamp are not allowed in Hirsch or Brawner.

The use of 2013 ASA stamped bats that do not also have an approved stamp are not allowed in any ESSPA division.

The penalty for using an ALTERED bat is Suspension. 

The penalty for entering the batter's box with a Non-Approved bat is "The batter is out and ejected from the game.  In addition, the coach/manager is ejected as well."

Ejection from a game also results in automatic suspension for the next game.  The ESSPA Discipline Committee reviews all ejections and can impose further penalties.
