EDMONTON 50+ SENIORS SLO-PITCH ASSOCIATION *** Seniors In Motion
 The ESSPA Song

For the 25th anniversary of ESSPA in 2010, our member Rick Garvin wrote and recorded "the Senior Slowpitch Song". He then put it to video using photos and films from the history of ESSPA.

Lyrics: The Senior Slowpitch Song     ©2010 Rick Garvin (www.rickgarvin.com)

       1. In 1985, some old sportsman thought they’d try

To make a baseball club for senior play.

Where older folks could come, to have old folks slowpitch fun

And so was born the E.S.S.P.A.

 Chorus

Now the E.S.S.P.A., is my senior slowpitch league

And I can’t wait to get out on the field, every week.

It makes me feel young, even though I can barely run,

So thank you for the E.S.S.P.A.

2. They built diamonds at Airways Park, now they play until it gets dark,

And every year it’s grown in every way

Now thousands of games played, and the friendships that we’ve made

Are the reason for the E.S.S.P.A.

Chorus

Now the E.S.S.P.A., is my senior slowpitch league

And I can’t wait to get out on the field, every week.

It makes me feel young, even though I can barely run,

So thank you for the E.S.S.P.A.

 Chorus again

Now the E.S.S.P.A., is my senior slowpitch league

And I can’t wait to get out on the field, every week.

It makes me feel young, even though I can barely run,

So thank you for the E.S.S.P.A.

It makes me feel alive, but no more head-first slides!

Happy birthday E.S.S.P.A.
