General Tournament Information (2011) For the 2011 tournament schedule and signup form, click here. 1) ESSPA Spring Tournament and Mixer; May 13 / 14 This league tournament involves players competing within their own division. It is held the weekend of May 13 & 14 at our Airway Park diamonds. Please let your coach / manager know if you are interested in playing. 2) (ASSPA) Alberta Seniors Slo-Pitch Association Tournaments (13 weekends) These tournaments are open to all ESSPA members. We are looking for commitment and ability. You must play with your team at the assigned tournaments. Complete the attached application form now - or enter your tournament information online later if you are unsure of your availability at the present time. 60+ – Bruce Munro -780-475-1106 65+ – Ken Sigaty -780-473-8204 70+ – Bill Yakymyshym/Stan Zimmerman Please note that the 60+ category may include 3 players aged 55 – 59. The ASSPA tournament hosted by ESSPA is on June 10 / 11 / 12
3) (SPN) Slo Pitch Nationals Info SPN is for players interested in playing at a very competitive level and representing Edmonton at the Provincial and National level. Those interested in playing SPN should contact the respective associate: 50 Classics – Marv Huff 55 Classics – Don Switzer 60 Classics – John Cabaj 50 Vintage – Merv Koughan Ladies 50 – Lois Morrow Ladies 55 & 60 - Dorothy Downie Edmonton will be hosting an SPN Provincial Qualifier tournament, the Jackson Classic, on the weekend of July 8 / 9 / 10 in the following Men's categories 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, and a Ladies Division. 4) Alberta 55+ Summer Games To qualify members must have ASCSRA membership and be selected for a team. ESSPA will help sponsor Zone 6 and Zone 5 ESSPA based teams. Zone 6 playoffs will be held between May 30 and June 3 at Airway Park. Categories are 60+(four 55's allowed), 65+, 70+, and 55+ Co-ed. 5) The 65+ Average Age tournaments and the Huntsman World Games usually have ESSPA based teams attending. As well, there are some teams formed throughout the year to play in Mixed Tournaments as well as travel teams that go to BC and other places. |
